“Beauty and the Beast 2014″ is a new version of the traditional french fairy tale of “La Belle et La Bête”.
“Beauty and the Beast” became one of the most prominent movies of 2014 not only in France but also all over the world. It seems that by producing “Beauty and the Beast” the French cinema turns back to the classical values of the gender relationships. Conventional love and heterosexual erotic, in all its cultural and also political aspects, celebrate its return in France in a form of a marvelous French fairy tale. This contrasts with the tendency to depict homosexual relationships in the year 2013 (for example: a lesbian movie “La Vie d’Adèle” was issued in 2013 and became a winner of Cannes festival 2013 receiving Palme d`Or ).
